Objectives
To design a tool that would make the procedure of setting the source code files
under version control in Rational ClearCase simple and satisfying the
internal demands of the Customer's company.
Technical peculiarities
The utility interacts with Rational ClearCase via CAL (ClearCase
Automation Library). The ClearCase Automation Library is a COM interface
may be used to access and manipulate the ClearCase data under MS Windows
platforms.

Results
The requirement was to design the quickest and most reliable utility for
setting the source code and text files under version control in Rational
ClearCase. The Rational Sofware's ClearCase is a rather complex
configuration management system. In fact, the utility acts as an add-in
and enables the user to put any number of files under version control
meeting the requirements of the Customer's company (the rules of setting
labels, attributes, branches, and other parameters).
